In 2019, Compton USD introduced eSports to all four high school campuses with a six-week tournament sponsored by the Los Angeles Chargers.

Compton USD's McKinley Elementary is one of 13 California elementary schools selected for the California Exemplary Arts Education Award.

Cutie Pi's of Dominguez High is a math club created to support and encourage students in the area of mathematics. Its four tenets are: representation, identification, community & mentorship. 

STEAMFest - Compton USD's celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics - was huge success. Over 7,000 students, parents, educators and community members attended. 

The Compton Unified School District is committing $50,000 towards bringing “Music Unites Academies,” to three schools in Compton: Centennial High, Bunche Middle and Kelly Elementary.  

 Three Compton Unified Robotics Teams represented the district at the FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) LEGO League Robotics Championship in La Canada, CA.       WATCH THE VIDEO

Serena and Venus Williams’ Yetunde Price Resource Center (YPRC), in partnership with CUSD), announced the winning teams in the Mission: Impact Challenge.

Turnaround Arts partner with Compton Unified School District to bring Tim Robbins the Actors' Gang to McKInley Elementary School where students  participated in an acting course.
